For mountains: Zermatt is the classic — the Matterhorn does half the work for you. Just below it, Lake Riffelsee gives you the mountain reflected in the water, and this shoot near the Matterhorn shows how it looks in real light. In the Bernese Oberland, Grindelwald and Männlichen are my go-to for big panoramas without a hard hike, and Lauterbrunnen works even in mediocre weather — the waterfalls carry the mood.
Prefer water? Oeschinensee is the most beautiful lake in the country, full stop — but go early, it gets busy by 10. Seealpsee offers a peaceful alpine setting surrounded by dramatic peaks, Iseltwald is an easy, low-effort option with turquoise water, and Park Hotel Vitznau if you want it private and luxurious.
